Extrupack 1976

Extrupack was legally established in 1972 by brothers Mr. Jos Winata Wihardja and Mr. Hubertus Dharma Wihardja, and commenced commercials in 1976. Extrupack manufactures packaging materials made of aluminium tubes. The office and factory are located in Jl. Raya Bekasi Km. 28,5  Bekasi - Indonesia, in the island of java. Extrupack was initially established to fulfill the packaging requirements of the local pharmaceutical Industry. Initial customers were Kalbe Farma, now one of the largest local pharmaceutical company in Indonesia, and Kimia Farma, a government owned pharmaceutical company. The factory started operations with 1 (one) production line. Through continous upgrading and expansion, the factory now operates with 11 (eleven) production lines working in three shifts.

Over the years, Extrupack has maintained its focus on high quality, technical excellence and customer oriented service. As a result, the company has expanded its customer base to incluide clients in the cosmetic, adhesive, stationery, and dental industries. Clients now incluide notable multinational companies such as L'Oreal, Bayer, Pfizer, Schering, Roche, etc. both local and overseas. Exports to the pacific Rim account for 20% of revenues and is expected to be a major portion of revenues in the coming years.
In 2002, Extrupack obtained its ISO 9001 certificate and has regularly updated in up to the present.

PRODUCTS 

Aluminium Tubes

Use of aluminium tubes as a packaging materila has been around for quita a long time. It will remain a rellable packaging material because of its outstanding sealing property which can protect its product contents from exposure to air, light and moisture. Aluminium tubes are also unbreakable and lightweight making it a practical alternative packaging. Aluminium tubes are recyclable making it one the more environmentally friendly packaging material available.

Extrupack manufactures two type of aluminium tubes : collapsible aluminium tubes and rigid aluminium tube (aluminium can).

Collapsible Aluminium Tubes

Collapsible Aluminium Tubes are used as a primary packaging material for semi-liquid products such as creams, ointments, food, dyes, glue, sealants, etc. As the name suggests, collapsible aluminium tubes are soft so that consumers can squeeze the tubes to extract its semi-liquid contents.

Collapsible aluminium tubes are used by the pharmaceutical industry for primary packing material of creams and ointments. Extrupack's collapsible aluminium tubes conforms to strict pharmaceutical standards including packing ophthalmic ointments. Another use of collapsible aluminium tubes is the cosmetic industry where it is used to pack corrosive hair dyes. When internally lined with the appropriate lacquer, collapsible aluminium tubes serve as a stable corrosion-free packaging. The food industry use collapsible aluminium tubes for sandwich spreads, milk and other semi-liquid food products. Finally industrial products which are sensitive to exposure to air also use collapsible tubes. Examples of these are super glue, epoxy adhesives, all purpose glues and sealants.



Rigid Aluminium Tube (aluminium cans)
Rigid Aluminium Tubes Can be used to pack tablets, caplets, aerosol sprays and market pens. The pharmateceutical industry normally use rigid aluminium tubes (aluminium cans) to pack effevescent tablets which are very sensitive to moisture. Caplets also use rigid aluminium tube as a primary packaging material.
The cosmetic industry use aluminium cans for aerosol sprays such as deodorants, perfumed mists, mouth sprays, etc. The excellent sealing property of aluminium cans ensure that sprays do not leak.
The stationery industry use rigid aluminium tubes for the bodies of felt pen markers. Again, the excellent sealing property of aluminium tubes ensure that ink solvents of the markers are contained properly.






FACILITIES

Production Machinery

With an installed capacity of more than 100 million tubes per annum, Extrupack has one of the largest capacities of aluminium tubes in the Pacific rim today. Extrupack has the capacity to supply in large quantities over an extended period. Operating with 11 lines in three shifts, Extrupack can print in 6 colors and meet customers' most stringent requirements. The Factory premises and machinery are well maintaned.
Factory facilities conform to international standards and utilize the latest technology available in the world.







Quality Control Department
Extrupack has its own quality control laboratory. The Quality Control Department checks incoming mateilas, controls in process production and assures the quality of finished products. The laboratory is furnished with the latest testing equipment and manned by qualified personnel. Testing procedures are in accordance with DIN standards and can also accommodate other international standards upon request.






Pre Equipment
Design, artwork, film processing and printing plate preparation are all done in-house. Several Macintosh and personal computers are available for artwork design. Extrupack employs full time designers working on designs and artworks. Imagesetters are used for computer to film processing. A printing plate preparation equipment is used to make printing plates for use on the printing units.




Workshop
Extrupack has its own fully equipped workshop manned by expert by machinists. Fabrication of high precision toolings and parts are done in-house using the latest CNC equipment. A team of highly skilled maintenance crew conducts a preventive maintenance program that ensures all production equipment are in good running condition and produce quality products.
